this is a public service announcement to urge all of you to get to a doctor and get your annual health checkup, and to continue being vigilant in doing so. and if you don't have health insurance, please please please, for $70 a month, you can get decent coverage from a variety of providers. you might not need it for the little things, but really, for the major illnesses from which you might think you are exempt.
because really, there's nothing worse than seeing someone you love get sick and hear a diagnosis that you would never expect anyone our age to have. seeing that person go from a healthy, vibrant, young adult, to constantly being keeled over in pain, exhausted, not being able to do simple things. and when you hear him say, "i forget what it's like to be painless," you realize that the line between him being in pain and not being in pain was nothing.. but just a matter of months, days, weeks. because when that happens, you grow to hate hospitals more than you ever could imagine. and there's nothing worse than holding a doctor's report in your hands, and hoping harder than you've ever hoped that it's just a demented nightmare or some freudian f*ckup, that what you just read wasn't what it really said.
ok. i'm done with my rant. nobody needs to be as completely deflated and disheartened as we all are now.
