sick again :P

i've managed to outdo myself again.

this is the 4th time i'm sick in about 5 weeks. this time, i have no one specific to blame, just a bad case of allergies (packing kicks up a lot of dust) turned to cold.

i sign my lease tomorrow.

i pick up keys on thursday.

i'm way behind in my animation project.

my final assignment for my drawing class is due friday.

i move this saturday. i will use movers for the main move. i will move plates and fragile things on other smaller trips.

and i find myself doing the crazy headless chicken dance again.

thanksgiving menu

honey baked roast turkey
honey baked smoked ham
cranberry sauce (a la moi, i add apples)
mashed potatoes (ditto)
homemade gravy + honey baked gravy
glazed yams (and i realized that i've been doing the recipe wrong, but either way it tastes good)
honey baked stuffing (this is still too advanced for me, i think. and i'm lazy)
creamed corn (without a real recipe, but it turned out well)
pumpkin pie (king's hawaiian)
pecan pie (king's hawaiian)
martinelli's sparking apple and grape cider

so. much. food.

very yummy though. this year has the highest count of home-cooked sides. :) and i actually did most of them so i'm quite pleased with myself.

maybe one day, when i have more free time... i may make my own turkey.

psh. yeah right. :)

shameless plug for gifts

i would like to request that anyone who was planning on getting me anything for the holidays to look at my wishlist on amazon.

it will save you shopping time and a horrendous trip to the mall and it will ensure that you are giving a poor art student something that she has been lusting after for months. if you're worried about the surprise factor, amazon automatically keeps the purchased items on the list for the holiday season, so that the person doesn't notice that the item has been purchased.

been so busy....

it seems to be the state of things, huh?

well.... now that everything is mostly decided and settled:

i've been ridiculously busy and pretty non-social for the last few weeks because i've been hunting for a new place. the rent on my place increased again (which i understand, because it's a nice place) and made continuing to live here too extravagant.

meanwhile... my animation class has assigned all of us a 30 second film to do, so things in that class have been busier than ever before. my figure drawing class also has a final portfolio submission coming up in two weeks, but my drawings look crappy because well.... i haven't had the time to draw.

we found a place this past weekend in mountain view. so now... it's all about packing, moving,, setting up utilities, blah blah and etc after i return from thanksigiving and lots of turkey.

i'll be in LA from tuesday evening (tonight) to sunday afternoon. if people would like to meet up, please give me a call at my parents'. or send me an email, since they finally have dsl (a slow one). :)

music genome project

i love it when scientific theories/ideas get applied in a totally different field. :)

this is pandora, the musical genome project.

you start by put in a song/artist you like. they generate a songlist. you vote whether you like the song or not, which is supposed to make it more accurate. and you can have multiple playlists, too. :)

if you like the song enough, they have links to itunes to buy the song and amazon to buy the album. i can see this as being dangerous. :)

you can also start another playlist off of a song that came up, as well.

it's neat, if you're puzzled how they came to the next song, there's a button that explains how they got there. and this stuff just fascinates me, the way that brian and joy's sheep software did. applied bio is cool. :)
