music genome project
i love it when scientific theories/ideas get applied in a totally different field. :)
this is pandora, the musical genome project.
you start by put in a song/artist you like. they generate a songlist. you vote whether you like the song or not, which is supposed to make it more accurate. and you can have multiple playlists, too. :)
if you like the song enough, they have links to itunes to buy the song and amazon to buy the album. i can see this as being dangerous. :)
you can also start another playlist off of a song that came up, as well.
it's neat, if you're puzzled how they came to the next song, there's a button that explains how they got there. and this stuff just fascinates me, the way that brian and joy's sheep software did. applied bio is cool. :)

it was a screensaver program that was at bp and joy's party. basically... you get to thumbs up or thumbs down the screensaver patterns it was morphing through and depending on how you voted, it would come up with new screensavers to match your tastes.
