typography projects (part 4 - late modernist layout)

man... i've managed to delete this entry 3 times. now i'm going to just lay out the facts. no wit, no nothing. :)

the modernists used invisible grids to lay out their information. the text/image would lay flush again the lines. the more columns and rows you have the more flexible your grid is.

our assignment was to have 2 designs each for 3-column, 5-column and 8-column grids. for each of the 6 designs, we were to have:

1. design without size, style and typefaces changes
2. design with size changes
3. design with size, style and typeface changes

there are 18 of them, so brace yourself if you go to the extended entry.

Hey, im doing 7th form design and we need to find 2 images which demonstrate the way in which Bauhaus tradition informs recent NZ/international design. I'd love to use the theo van doesburg image and interpretation cause it's wicked, but i need to know the interpreting designers name, if they're NZ or international and the year of the design. if you happen to read this could you please email the info to karifearon@hotmail.com. thanks so much. That'd rock my world.
