illustrator slave
still chugging away with working on the pieces of my mobile calendar, my final project for typography.
this basically means that my laptop is attached to me all day long.
i miss hanging out with people without stuff hanging over my head.
apparently, no brunch this morning since it's mother's day and everywhere would be full of people. that's too bad, because i'd sort of counted on seeing people this morning for a slight return to sanity before i throw myself into work again.
well... since parakkum will be up this week, i can probably use him as an excuse to meet up with people later this week.
i just have to survive till the 20th. then i will be done with school. i visit la from 21-27. then a writing skills test on the 29th, with a trip to tahoe to attend a liz phair concert with parakkum. the concert would be the kick-off to my actual summer break. :)
my plans for summer:
- recuperate, so that i don't burn out and feel unmotivated about doing everything (four weeks before summer school and three weeks after)
- summer school (6/28-8/5) - beginning and intermediate drawing. M-Th 8am-140pm. hopefully the classes won't be full by the time i can enroll (6/18).
- san diego comiccon(7/22-7/25) (parakkum would like a headcount if people are planning to come down.
- i would like to play around with different materials, like markers and pastels. i certainly have the markers now. pastels.... :)
- go through at least one art instruction book

just remember to register soon. the second phase of early registration it by 6/5 for $50. after that, it's until 6/18 for $60.
and for those of you who can, there is the preview night on wednesday, as well.
i will probably fly in on thursday night.

hmm. i might be interested in comiccon. My memory last year is that i felt horribly burned out after two days, but then again, I have a couple friends in the area now so I could just drive an hour north and visit them for one of those days.
sadly, this will highlight the fact that i have made absolutely no artistic progress this year. sigh.
