too many disney movies

after watching something along the lines of 7 disney movies in the last two days my brain is mush. :)

but my paper is basically finished. yay!

thanks to parakkum who's been the best sport and helping me edit the darn thing.

now i will move on to my other projects.

why i don't want to be a graphic designer:
"i just feel like i don't have enough time to do the things i need/want to do"
"you just have to make time"

yeah... i can make time... if i sacrifice my physical and mental sense of well-being. :P

what films did u watch?

you can sit through 7 disney movies? in 2 days? crazy. i was thinking that i don't even own 7 disney movies, and then i realized that i do. from my dvd binge days. ") at least you weren't watching by yourself. i have a theory that watching too many disney movies alone has somewhat the same effect as drinking too many alcoholic beverages or eating too many amazing desserts alone.

actually... i was for the most part watching them by myself. hence the mental mush.

i didn't really have a choice... it was for a paper.

the list:
snow white and the seven dwarfs
sleeping beauty
beauty and the beast
pocahontas
mulan

i just remembered that i didn't watch cinderella and the little mermaid though it felt like i did because i had to write about them.

i just watched "pocahontas" for the first time last night. lots to comment on it. disneyfication of stuff. "p blech! what was your paper on...topic?

my paper was on how disney heroines have been changing. it was an interesting read, but there was only so much i could cover with 2-3 pages though, which is too bad since i had much more to say.

Being a graphic designer is like any other profession, if you like doing the stuff anyway, then you'll gladly spend time on it. So you gotta choose a career that you do for fun anyway, if you can. Graphic Designer isn't a good choice for those job-to-pay-the-bills-but-gives-me-enough-time-to-pursue-my-passion kind of job. The suggestion of a former art professor comes to mind: janitorial work. A part of me's thinking that's not too crazy of an idea.

oh. i've never planned on being a graphic designer. just saying that i'm glad i'm not going to be one, since i'm getting a taste of what it's like from my typography class
