2004 and presidential elections

i wasn't at home to watch this on tv. neither did i know this was going on, since i basically have no contact with the non-korean world while i'm home.

NY Times: In Final Debate Before Caucuses, Democrats Tangle on Race Issues

it's no secret amongst my friends that i dislike bush and want him out of office. but who to pick?

do you vote for someone that has the best chance because you want bush out of office? or do you try to vote for someone that doesn't have a good chance of winning but you agree with the most? but if you do that, then are you in danger of splitting votes? blah blah.

i suppose, this time, i would have to vote democrat, muting my idealistic tendencies. no more nadars pulling enough votes to allow bush to win.

actually... now that i think about it, this is my first presidential election. i am a presidential election virgin. :) i got my citizenship in 2002. applied for it in 2001, but 9/11 happened and my application was delayed for about a year.

maybe i subconsciously hated bush so much, i decided to get off my butt and get my citizenship to vote against him.

any ideas on which democrat seems the most promising and reasonable?

from the article, i thought this was pretty funny:
Mr. Kucinich, who has often delivered some of the biggest laugh lines at the debates, produced another one early in the debate in response to a question about the emphasis he would place on the space program if elected. "You know, first of all, I've been wondering why the president would, while we're still in Iraq, talk about going to the moon and going to Mars," he said. "Maybe he's looking for the weapons of mass destruction still."
