so.... i did something that is apparently considered impossible. admittedly, if i'd known what a hassle it would be, i'm not sure i would've tried to update the harddrive in my beloved ibook. the impossible task

- we started the whole process with backing up my old hard drive on will's work server last friday.
- we commenced taking apart my laptop on saturday. we found out on this day that replacing a hard drive in an ibook means taking the back apart, removing the keyboard, unhooking the trackpad and speakers and taking the front off. in the middle of this, we'd managed to strip a screw badly, so will had to take it out with a drill. we finished on sunday
- now i'm moving all my files and trying to restore all my bookmarks, preferences and whatnot.

but now i have a 60gb hard drive. yay~ :)

did i mention that i don't want a traditional funeral? i haven't decided whether i'd want to be cremated/buried/donated to science, but i know that i'd rather have a potluck where people can come and talk with each other. none of this wearing black and weeping while trying to make the dead person sound like a saint, forgetting all the other fun/mean/weird things about them.
