Kittens: Lessons Learned

1. Don't wear things that dangle. Kittens will climb your leg trying to get to them.
2. Don't put a body part near the edge of the bed while they are too little to just jump on the bed. They will climb up using whatever surface they can dig their claws into (including your limbs).
3. Kittens track litter everywhere.
4. Throw rugs help keep the litter from being tracked through the house, but only if the kittens don't like to play with the throw rug and drag it around various rooms.
5. Cheap toys are best, as they will inevitably lose them. Their favorite cheap toy that I don't care if they lose - plastic bottle caps from bottles of water.
6. Kittens are much less cute when they decide they need to be petted at 4AM.
7. Don't be too attached to your furniture not having claw marks on them. You can't prevent it, so don't stress it.
8. Cats have different sleep schedules than you do. Expect them to sleep when you're awake, and to try to keep you awake when they're asleep.
9. Kittens are super cute and will make you laugh every day. They also make you revert to baby talk, but that's another story.
