Long time, no blog, I know... What brings me back online is actually a request for any suggestions about what to do/see in Chicago. I'll be going there the 21st thru 24th. I know there are architecture buffs here, so I'm hoping that you guys have some ideas. I think Susan and I will be doing a walking tour of some type, and I know just from browsing around that there are some really interesting architechtural styles in the city, so I'm wondering if you guys have any "must sees"?
Posted by cshell at April 6, 2005 10:51 AM | TrackBackI've only ever been a tourist there, myself, but I really enjoyed Ed Debevic's. It's a Michigan Ave. (that's the main drag in downtown, right?) attraction... an old style diner, where they employ actors to give you some sass. Quite a lot of fun.
Although, I only went there like 10 years ago, so not sure if it's still there/still fun.

Posted by: kwc at April 6, 2005 11:17 AMwell,
people generally like michigan avenue. a lot of the original buildings were destroyed by a fire in the early 1900s, but a few buildings remain on michigan ave. there's lakeshore drive, that is just beautiful, and the museum there, as well. also, some people really like the comedy clubs in chicago, and i saw one that wasn't too bad. the chinatown there is somewhat unremarkable, and the neighborhoods near uchicago can be sketchy, so be careful :)
have a safe trip!
