Date 11: Dining? Yes, dining.

As I mentioned in date ten, a great way to woo a busy girl is with fine food. After another busy week (told you I was behind in writing these up), I offered the lure of sushi. After checking to make sure that I was absolutely sure I wanted to take that financial risk -- given her love of the stuff -- Littlestar agreed. This was a dinner to cap yet another really long day, as we ended up walking into Sushi Tomi at eight o'clock.

Littlestar doubted me for a moment when the waitress added if we had reservations. But I didn't give in to her doubting -- a minute later, we were seated.

Once again, it was a lot of fun ordering food with Ms. Littlestar. We had many of the usual suspects - softshell crab, salmon, hamachi, amaebi -- all the goodies. We also tried their onigiri, and it was really good. Littlestar liked the cod roe one best (we had cod roe and salmon). They were bigger then we expected, so once again, we ended up with a little too much food (just by a smidge). Yet another tasty learning experience.

It was a really nice evening, but I think I need to start buying Littlestar some tea when we go out, as tired as she's been at the end of the week these last two times. Especially after the wonderful food, she looked very mellow and ready to sleep.

After the restaurant, we walked over to Castro street and looked at books. :) We are the most exciting pair ever.

Mmm. The amaebi was quite good (and the company was just as good -- but without sharp bits like the amaebi had).

sharp bits? did you have it shell-on?

The final part of the tail of the amaebi is still shelled, and the amaebi we had that day had little thorny bits on that shelled part. Prickly. :)
