Date 10: Fine dining is very relaxing

Littlestar's busy, busy school schedule means that it's harder to work in elaborate dates. Even so, I figured she might enjoy a really nice dinner at the end of a busy week. So I got all dressed up (well, nicely dressed -- not a suit or anything), picked her up and we bopped on over to Cascal on Castro. I figured she'd respond well to an offer of good food in neat little increments, and I was right. :)

Cascal was nicely busy for a Thursday night, but they still had a good table for two near (as it turned out) the band. Given some prior band-in-restaurant experiences, I was a touch worried, but after the first song the band settled down to provide a good atmosphere that fit the dinner and the evening really well.

Ordering food with Littlestar was fun. :) "Want the Piquillo Peppers and Serrano Ham?" "Sure! And let's get the Mussels and one of the Ceviches! And we have to get the Lamb!" All told, I think we ended up ordering too much, but just by a bit, and it was such a nice night to share foods and compare thoughts -- on the foods and whatever else came to mind. Littlestar also had a mojito that had rather more alcohol than she expected, so I got to watch her sloooowly weave around in place while we spoke. She didn't even realize she was doing it.

We took our time, chatted and generally enjoyed the meal, though dessert was right out. :) I'm glad I could help make a little break in Littlestar's otherwise busy week and I'm glad I had a lovely night out with a lovely girl.
